Welcome to the RRPictureArchives.NET contributor site of Tom Binger.
My first camera was a lowly instamatic, but my senior year in high school I bought my first real camera, a Mamiya 220 twin lens reflex. I later bought a Canon SLR and began taking railroad photos in earnest in 1975, my first year in college. Neither camera had a motor drive, so I had learn to discipline myself to anticipate the shot.
I shot a lot of black and white as I could buy bulk film and I had access to a dark room. Most of my early slides were Ektachrome, which I used for other photography besides trains. I finally settled on Kodachrome in 1983 for railroad photography until I bought my first digital camera in 2006.
Like any photographer, I like to see my pictures and this website allows me and others to share our work. I will keep current with my digital photos and continue to post my older photos as I have time to get them scanned. I enjoy viewing the work of other photographers and hope you enjoy looking at my photos as well. Please feel free to comment (good or bad) as I am always trying to improve my work.
You may browse my collection of pictures via the menu located on the left hand side of the page. I hope you enjoy the collection and thanks for stopping by!
